AI Part Finder on Android and iPhone identifies candidate car parts from photos and connects them to replacement sources.
Turn an unfamiliar component into a searchable starting point
A damaged bracket, loose trim piece or broken lamp is easier to research once you have a useful name and identifying details. AI Part Finder in AutoEstimatePro’s Android and iPhone apps uses your part photos to suggest what the component may be and connect that identification to replacement-source searches.
Open the Parts tab, add one to three photos and supply the vehicle year, make, model or trim you know. An optional ZIP code adds location context to sourcing. The app can return a candidate part name and category, side or position, possible OEM number, compatibility notes, visible condition and buying tips. Results vary with the evidence and available listings.
A useful three-photo sequence
- Show the whole component. Place it in good light with its shape, mounting points and connectors visible. If it is still installed, show where it sits on the vehicle without unsafe disassembly.
- Show the identifying detail. Photograph a readable label, stamped number, casting mark or connector face. Keep small characters sharp rather than relying on digital zoom.
- Show the other side or the damage. Include broken tabs, handedness and other details that affect condition or interchangeability.
Use the result to compare candidates
Start with the proposed name and side. Compare any suggested OEM number with the number physically present on the component. Read the compatibility and buyer notes, then open available seller listings to check the exact option. A headlamp housing, for example, may look similar across lighting packages while its connectors, modules or mounting details differ.
Compare the total delivered cost, what is included, visible damage, shipping time, returns and any required programming or calibration. Used assemblies may omit brackets, bulbs or modules. A low advertised price is only useful when you know which pieces arrive in the box.
How it works alongside a repair report
A repair report starts with vehicle photos and a VIN. It itemizes damaged components, labor and paint and can flag related or hidden-damage risks. Rebuild, Repair and Insurance reports show component sourcing when available; Flip and Part-Out reports focus on their investment purpose and omit purchase links.
AI Part Finder gives you another entry point: photograph a component you already have, or a visible component you need to identify, without treating that single photo as a whole-vehicle repair estimate. Use the candidate identity to discuss the correct replacement with your shop or supplier.
Example: checking a damaged mirror
Photograph the full mirror, its label and the connector. Add the vehicle details, then use the proposed name and side to narrow the search. Before ordering, verify heating, folding, camera or blind-spot equipment, connector pin count, finish and included mounting hardware. Keep the seller’s confirmed fitment and return terms with your purchase record. The same process works for other parts with visually similar variants.
Access on Android and iPhone
Download AutoEstimatePro free from your phone’s official store. AI Part Finder requires sign-in and eligible paid account access; reports, credits and subscriptions have their own purchase terms. See the Android feature guide, iPhone feature guide and complete mobile report workflow.
Photo identification and suggested compatibility are research aids. Confirm the physical part and vehicle fitment with the seller or a qualified professional before buying or installing.
AI Part Finder questions
How do I identify a car part with a photo?
Open Parts in AutoEstimatePro, add one to three clear photos, include any known vehicle details and optionally a ZIP code. Review the proposed part identity, buying tips and available replacement sources.
Is AI Part Finder the same as report parts sourcing?
No. Report sourcing connects damaged components in an eligible repair report to replacement listings. AI Part Finder is a separate photo-identification tool for a component you want to recognize and research.
Does a match guarantee the replacement will fit?
No. Confirm the part number, side, trim, connectors, mounting points and seller fitment information before ordering. A photo can miss important variations.
Who can use AI Part Finder?
AI Part Finder requires sign-in and eligible paid account access. Current access can depend on your subscription, report credits or report ownership. Check the app for your account options; the free download does not make every feature free.
